In liquid fusion, according to Oryan in a video produced by Levy Productions, “materials that don’t belong together” are combined— black and white as a base, chemically altered paint that won’t mix, and crushed minerals all welded together and smoothed many times over to provide “a really deep color.” With this style, Oryan specializes in capturing radiance of solitary trees, often merging them with female figures.

“I paint trees as a symbol of life as an individual,” Oryan said. “Each branch makes you who you are—a unique being. Never will a tree grow the same way twice.” Oryan explored individuality

and

uniqueness as a budding child artist who would paint “literally everything” he saw. When his relatives would buy him a toy, “twenty minutes later, there’s a painting,” Oryan said. Painting was

Oryan’s true calling,

although he flirted with architecture, in which he majored in college, and fashion design, in which he met models who would ultimately work as the figures synthesized with nature in his art. Oryan evokes such a pure connection in his art that people can be moved to tears. “I don’t even know what to do with that when I get it,” Oryan joked. Then, more seriously, he commented, “I’m so lucky. I always knew I was an artist. It’s just a matter of convincing everyone else.”
