“It’s a question of depth.” Managing Director of Domaine Drouhin, David Millman shares his thoughts on the relationship between the fermented and visual creations. “Art and wine are things that you feel and can be really passionate about and explore—wine is personal to you.” For over 25 years in Dundee Hills, Oregon, passion has ran deep in the Drouhin family. Now, in recent years, they have looked to expand their creative intelligence towards a new location.

Wine is a reflection of location. Resting on the southern tip of the Eola-Amity Hills in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, you will find Domaine Drouhin’s latest endeavor and vineyard entitled, Roserock. Specializing in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, these wine’s colorful recipes parallel the complexity of fine art.

Released in March 2016, the 2014 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir both have an array of palate-enticing flavors that casual and experienced winos alike will throughly enjoy.

Savory, spicy, floral, intense and beautiful can describe the aroma Domaine Drouhin communicates through their latest Pinot Noir. The palate will experience dark berry preserves, caramels, black cherry, dried flowers and tilled earth. If that is not enough to reach salivation, their Chardonnay will win you over, filling the nostrils with pears, pine needles, quince, ripe citron and honeysuckle. When the wine touches the palate, you can expect to sense a faint oak presence accompanied by acidity without the tartness.

Wine is an art form, and the dedication, passion and intellectual curiosity behind Domaine Drouhin’s wine correlates with visual art and music. Their family approach to wine-making and respect for the land establishes a sense of unity between vineyard and community, making Domaine Drouhin genuine and wholesome with quality intact.
