resident Hammond opened Annual Meeting 2017 by thanking the Mis- sissaugas of the New Credit and other Indigenous peoples for sharing this
land. He outlined initiatives the Executive focussed on this past year including the 2017- 2019 Extension Agreements for teacher, occa- sional teacher, DECE, ESP and PSP members. The Extension Agreements included gains on issues ETFO has been advocating for many years. He spoke about ETFO’s call to action and multi-year strategy to address violent in- cidents in elementary schools. He challenged the Ministry of Education to fix a funding for- mula that fails students. He gave a shout out to the many ETFO local leaders and activists who supported the $15 and Fairness campaign and the OFL’s amendments to Bill 148, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act. He also updated delegates on the Bill 115 remedy negotiation. Seeking a fair remedy for the losses incurred by ETFO members, ETFO’s Executive referred the matter back to the court.
