CRHRA News September 2022
CRHRA Tags did another
good deed. A set of keys was lost on the first day of Univer- sity for One of our members and was found by someone who called me so I could notify the owner where to retrieve them. They were so thrilled that the tag saved them. Unfortunately with
COVID the cost of the tags and printer have gone up signifi- cantly there will be a $5.00 charge plus tax starting in Jan- uary 2023 for them. You can also decline the
tags. Good news is that the
Basic Membership and all ad- ditional items have not changed in price again this year. Memberships have been
made even more simple with only one membership form for all. No more renewal or new
members being a separate form. You do not have to know your membership number, just put in your name and fill in the rest of the form. We do not accept cash or
cheques only credit cards. For those of you who wish to mail in your application forms there will be a printed form at the bottom of the page that has the word Membership. The form is in the left hand corner at the bottom. Be sure and pick the cor-
rect one as we will leave 2022 there till December 15 for those that are changing barns or get- ting a horse/pony for Xmas . Note mailing them takes
much longer to get your confir- mation of membership. Contact Bonnie to have your applica- tion processed over the phone if you do not have a computer or email address or simply have trouble or questions. We are working on a di-
rect phone line to the member- ship processing people and will
post when it is all set up. 2023 Application forms
will be ready in November. Re- member they do not come into effect till January 1 of 2023. You will receive a confirmation email, welcome letter and tags if purchased before that but your BFL actual certificate will not arrive till January. Your membership gets sent to them the first week of January. Our New CRHRA Trail
Community is starting to take shape. We have decided to cre- ate zones with a coordinator in each zone to organize and post events and rides and coordinate with other zones. We are doing this in all the other Provinces and Territories as well. If you would like to be a coordinator contact Laurie at
crhratrailcommunity@gmail.co m
It does not matter that we
have not laid out all the zones yet, you can still be a coordina- tor in your area in any Province and Territory including here in
Ontario. The more the better, the more connectivity! You only have to be a current CRHRA Member. If your Rid- ing Club is struggling to get di- rectors and raise enough money for club insurance we can help. You can appoint a coordinator and register that person with Bonnie. Your members must be members of CRHRA and you can fall under the CRHRA Trail Community. You need to dis- band the actual club with its by- laws and registration for directors with the government. You can keep the name only drop the club or association at- tached for example Mud Riders Association would become the Mud Riders. You do not need to sell memberships to your group, once everyone joins CRHRA they are all members of the CRHRA Trail Commu- nity.
You just send out mes-
sages to them about events and rides through your Coordinator. Each member carries a $5 mil-

lion dollar Liability Insurance package (BFL) that they get with their CRHRA member- ship. A certificate is sent out to each member proving this for each member to show if asked for coverage. It is world wide. You can still have rules for
your events and rides that you would like everyone to abide by. This is the Coordinators job to make available all this infor- mation prior to an event. Come Join the CRHRA
Trail Community for its amaz- ing opportunities that are being developed in phases for all horse worlds!!! Patrick is working on
keeping our trails and camp- ground open and available to all members without a club af- filiation, just a CRHRA Mem- bership.
Hunting season is upon us
again ! Wear lots of Orange and bright colors on you and your horse or buggy. Hunting usu- ally takes place between dawn and 11 am and resumes again

about 3 pm till dark. Of course there are exceptions to that de- pending on what the hunters are hunting.
Remember there are hunt-
ing dogs out there as well that drive the wild life. This can have the wild life run into you or leap out in front. Make lots of noise so everyone and thing knows you are there. Some use a bell on the horse. Ride with a buddy, carry a fully charged cell phone and tell someone where you have gone and how long you will be gone. If not back by dark they will send someone to look for you. Remember COVID still
alive and attacking us so use precautions at all times. A CRHRA News letter
will be out by the first of Octo- ber so if you have changed your email please submit the new one
to Parick at
President@crhra.ca as that is how it is sent.
Ride Smart!!! Ride Safe!!! Bonnie
