Introducing Q-ID: The Easier Way to Access Your AQHA Ac- count

The American Quarter

Horse Association is simplifying the member login process with Q-ID, a new user ID and pass- word platform. To make the login process easier than ever, Q-ID minimizes the number of user- names and passwords you need to access your AQHA informa- tion. Members who already have a myAQHA account have a Q-ID and can simply log in with their myAQHA username and pass- word. The myAQHA login page is the first application transi- tioned to Q-ID and, once new AQHA applications are unveiled,

you will use the same login infor- mation. If you do not already have a

myAQHA account, you can cre- ate a Q-ID login: 1. To

start, go to

https://www.myaqha.com and se- lect “Let’s Go!” to log in. 2.

If you’ve never logged in to

myAQHA before, use the right- hand side of the screen to create a Q-ID. 3. Enter the email address you wish to use for your Q-ID and create a password. 4. Re-type in the password to confirm it, and click “Create My Q-ID.” That’s it! Your Q-ID is now

created. Once your Q-ID is estab- lished, you might be guided through a few more steps to link your AQHA Member ID to spe- cific

applications,

myAQHA. This ensures you have full access and functional- ity.

AQHA Hires Director of Show Officials The American Quarter

Horse Association has hired John Pipkin as the AQHA director of officials. Pipkin will begin his new role on December 4. As the director of officials, Pipkin will be responsible for overseeing the direction of the AQHA judges, stewards and drug-testing pro- grams. He will work alongside the show department and judges committee members to provide industry-leading service and ed- ucational opportunities to ad- vance the mission statement of the Association. Additionally, he will work to advance AQHA’s position as an industry leader while ensuring the integrity of its officials. “How exciting for me to be

joining the AQHA competition team,” said Pipkin. “I have had the pleasure and honor to judge and steward shows, and work alongside my colleagues on AQHA committees and councils for 30-plus years. What a great privilege for me to have served as chair of the judges and show committees and show council, and currently serve on the Profes-

2024 AQHA Guidelines and Rules for Drugs and Medica- tions

Each year, the American

Quarter Horse Association re- leases the AQHA Guidelines and Rules for Drugs and Medica- tions. This educational resource is available online to serve as an addition to AQHA’s official med-

ications rules set forth in the vio- lations section of the AQHA Of- ficial Handbook of Rules and Regulations. Be sure to review this resource before attending any AQHA-approved event or show.

This resource includes ad-

vice about understanding the AQHA Equine Drugs and Med- ications Rules and applying it in practical situations. The purpose is to help accommodate legiti- mate therapy in compliance with the requirements of the rules. It is important to note, these are only guidelines to serve as an educa- tional supplement. It is important to consult a licensed veterinarian in determining whether a partic- ular substance is required for the welfare of a horse and when de- termining the dosage appropriate for such horse under AQHA’s rules. The AQHA drug-testing program is designed to ensure that horses competing in AQHA competitions are doing so in a manner that will promote the safety and well-being of all horses competing and the en- forcement of fair and equitable rules and procedures. AQHA’s policies concerning the adminis- tration of controlled substances are well documented as being among the most stringent in the equine industry. AQHA began drug testing at AQHA-approved shows in 1973 and was among the first, if not the first, equine breed association to do so. For complete information

on AQHA rules and regulations, view the AQHA Official Hand- book of Rules and Regulations at www.aqha.com/aqha-rulebook.

Disclaimer: Because the online version of the AQHA Rulebook can be updated throughout the year, it should be considered the most-current version of the AQHA Official Handbook of Rules and Regulations. Till next time, remember to
