Trillium Hunter Jumper Association Enters its 43rd Year

Jumper

The Trillium Hunter Association

(THJA) is proud to enter its 43rd year in 2026 and looks forward to another exciting season of ama- teur- and family-friendly hunter and jumper com- petitions across Ontario. As a not-for-profit

organization, THJA is dedicated to promoting grassroots access

to

equestrian sport. Its mis- sion is to provide an af- fordable, high-quality provincial circuit where riders of all ages and skill levels can compete, grow, and develop strong horsemanship and sports- manship skills. The THJA offers 26 horse shows in 6 geographic zones across the Province and the season culmi- nates in the highly antic- ipated

Provincial

Championships held in August. THJA competitions

are designed to balance accessibility with profes- sionalism. All events are officiated by Equestrian Canada–certified offi- cials who meet national standards and have com- pleted Safe Sport train- ing. In addition, all coaches participating at THJA shows are required to be properly licensed and certified in accor- dance with Equestrian Canada regulations, en- suring a safe and support- ive environment for all competitors. Consistency and

fairness remain central to the THJA experience. Class and division speci- fications, as outlined in the association’s annual yearbook, are offered uniformly across all com- petitions. Riders and horses or ponies are grouped by comparable skill levels, creating a level playing field where achievements are earned through

dedication,

preparation, and perform- ance.

A defining feature of the THJA circuit is its

commitment to conven- ience and affordability. Competitions are struc- tured to be completed within a single day, al- lowing participants to enjoy a full showing ex- perience without the ex- pense

reflect the association’s ongoing commitment to evolving its program- ming in response to the needs of its community. The popular “Travel

time

commitment of multi-day events. This format is es- pecially appealing to rid- ers balancing full-time work, school, and family responsibilities, as well as families managing multiple activities during the busy summer season. For 2026, THJA is

pleased to introduce sev- eral updates based on valuable feedback from its members. As part of a pilot program, a new 0.65m Jumper Division and a 0.75m Jumper Medal class have been added, expanding oppor- tunities for developing riders. These additions

the THJA” program will also continue this season, encouraging competitors to explore venues beyond their usual geographic zones. This initiative al- lows riders to experience a diverse range of high- quality facilities while fostering a stronger sense of connection across the provincial circuit. The highlight of the

2026 season will once again be the Trillium Championship Show. This year’s

theme,

“Game On,” invites par- ticipants to showcase their creativity, drawing inspiration from board games, video games, and outdoor adventures. The Championships promise

not only top-level com- petition but also a fun and engaging atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the THJA community. With a continued

focus on affordability, quality, and inclusivity, the Trillium Hunter Jumper Association re- mains committed to sup- porting equestrians at every stage of their jour- ney. The organization looks forward to wel- coming both returning competitors and new members to what prom- ises to be another memo- rable season. For more informa-
