Association (OQHA) is gearing up for an exciting and action- packed 2026 show season, with events that promise to bring to- gether competitors, enthusiasts, and the broader equine commu- nity from across the province and beyond. The season officially begins
with the Area 2 Spring Kick Off, taking place May 7–10. This highly anticipated event marks the start of another year of com-
petition and camaraderie, offer- ing exhibitors the opportunity to showcase their horses and start earning points early in the sea- son.
OQHA 2026 Show Schedule • Area 2 Spring Kick Off | An- caster, ON: May 7–10 • Area 1 Summer Sunsational | Ilderton, ON: May 28–31 • Area 3 Summerama | Thornton, ON: June 26–29 • OQHA Summer Finale | An-
caster, ON: September 2–6 One of the highlights of the
2026 calendar is the return of the Ontario Amateur Quarter Horse Association (OAQHA) Provin- cial Championships, which will once again be held in conjunction with the OQHA Summer Finale. This premier event continues to be a cornerstone of the Ontario Quarter Horse community. New for 2026, organizers are excited to announce the addition of
Ranch Riding to the Provincial Championships lineup—an in- creasingly popular class that em- phasizes versatility, style, and the working roots of the Quarter Horse. Another fan-favourite event
making its return is the Weekend Roundup All-Breed Horse Show, scheduled for July 24–26 at Reach Huron in Clinton, Ontario. Known for its welcoming atmos- phere and diverse competition, the Weekend Roundup continues
to attract riders of all levels and disciplines, celebrating the spirit of horsemanship across breeds. As the season approaches,
the OQHA is also actively seek- ing vendors and sponsors to sup- port its events. Businesses and organizations interested in con- necting with a passionate equine audience are encouraged to ex- plore partnership opportunities. Sponsorship plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of shows and supporting the continued
growth of the association. With a strong lineup of
events and new additions to the competition schedule, the OQHA looks forward to another success- ful year celebrating the versatility and excellence of the American Quarter Horse. For more information on
events, sponsorship opportuni- ties, or how to get involved, in- terested parties are encouraged to connect with the Ontario Quarter Horse Association.
