Hello and welcome to the August/September issue of Tomorrow’s Tile & Stone!
If you’re an Instagram and Pinterest addict like me, you’ll have probably seen an abundance of country-style, rustic interiors up against other popular styles like Scandi- or industrial-inspired. Personally, I am drawn to the more neutral colours and rustic materials of the country-style accounts, as opposed to the sleek marble or deep and dark colours of others. Of course, a key component of the rustic look is the use of wood and this is particularly prevalent when it comes to the flooring. Given the technological advancements in manufacturing today, the texture, tones and pattern of wood can easily be replicated for a whole variety of materials. So, what makes wood-effect porcelain and ceramic tiles different to LVT, laminate or real wood itself and why should customers opt for these? Offering both a manufacturer and retailer perspective, our Wood-Effect Tiles focus is packed with advice and comment centred around this very question.

As well as advice and inspiration from manufacturers and retailers, this issue also caters for them in the dedicated Showroom Design section. As a customer, the overall shopping experience has been evolving gradually over recent years with the rise of self-checkouts, scan-as-you-shop systems and various purchasing apps. But can you imagine having to put on a special headset to do your shopping? Well, as the Managing Director of Virtual Worlds explains, this may well be the future.
We also take a look at the latest Bars & Dining design projects and Neolith’s Director, Mar Esteve Cortes, answers our Ten Questions.
