HEALTH AND SAFETY EVENT 2020: EXHIBITORS

EVAC+CHAIR STAND E62 Evac+Chair will be sharing best practice in emergency evacuation procedures as it showcases its world- leading evacuation solutions at The Health and Safety Event.

Evacuation in high-rise buildings across the UK is becoming an increasingly important concern to ensure occupant and visitor safety. Deloitte’s recent Regional Crane Survey, highlights 2020 as another record- breaking year for the UK’s construction industry. In Birmingham alone, the report outlines plans to deliver 1,857 units of student housing, 3,100 residential units and more than 600,000 sq ft. of office space.

Against this backdrop, the government is set to tighten building regulations surrounding fire safety and evacuation in multi-storey buildings as part of its response to the Grenfell fire in 2017. The Health and Safety Executive will also be appointing a new regulator to ensure these changes are rigorously enforced throughout the entire industry.

Colin Moore, UK Sales Manager, Evac+Chair said: “With our built landscape continuing to rapidly evolve and health and safety regulations undergoing intense scrutiny, planning for safe and efficient emergency evacuation is crucial for any building owner, landlord, health and safety manager or facilities manager.

“Evacuation procedures shouldn’t be treated as a ‘tick- box’ exercise – they should form an integral part of an organisation’s culture to protect those with mobility impairments and, ultimately, save lives.

“At the Health and Safety Event, we’ll be sharing best practice techniques and answering visitors’ questions surrounding emergency evacuation, as well as inviting visitors to try the products out for themselves with live, on-stand demonstrations.”

As a global leader in stairway evacuation, Evac+Chair has been manufacturing its extensive range of emergency evacuation equipment in the UK for more than 35 years, working closely with organisations across a range of sectors to help them to plan and prepare for safe evacuation.
