NEWS STOCKSIGNS MAKES ON-SITE WELLBEING SUPPORT MORE VISIBLE

Construction and workplace signage supplier Stocksigns has worked closely with the Lighthouse Charity to develop a selection of clear and bold signage with powerful direct messaging designed to resonate with those on site and support the work of the charity. For 70 years, the Lighthouse Charity has been providing emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction professionals and their families across the UK and Republic of Ireland. This includes free, confidential support 24 hours a day, seven days a week over the phone or through a live web chat staffed by its expert advisors.

The Stocksigns range of impactful signage, designed to stand out in busy construction site environments, covers the areas of mental wellbeing, physical health, and financial stress, and reminds individuals that support is always available and that reaching out is a positive and encouraged step. Each sign prominently features the Lighthouse Charity’s 24/7 helpline numbers for both the UK and ROI, ensuring that anyone who needs help can access it quickly and easily.

ROSPA CELEBRATES 70 YEARS OF HEALTH AND SAFETY EXCELLENCE

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) marked the 70th anniversary of its prestigious Health & Safety Awards with a celebratory ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on 30 June.

Sponsored by NEBOSH, the event recognised organisations and individuals demonstrating excellence in workplace health and safety, with almost 2,000 entries submitted from 60 countries. The awards, which began as a small London ceremony in 1956, have grown into the world’s largest and most respected health and safety awards programme.

This year’s highest honour, The Lord Jordan of Bournville Trophy, was presented to The Sovini Group. Formerly known as The Sir George Earle Trophy, the award was renamed in recognition of RoSPA Life President Lord Jordan’s lifelong contribution to improving workplace safety and to mark his 90th birthday.

Sector award winners included Barchester Healthcare (Healthcare), Shepley Engineers Ltd. (Engineering

Services), Kuehne + Nagel – HMRC Inland Border Facilities – UK Sites (Public Services), AS Watson UK – Superdrug / Savers / The Perfume Shop (Wholesale and Retail), and MAS Active (Pvt) Ltd – MAS KREEDA Synergy (Manufacturing).

During the ceremony, RoSPA also launched its new OSH Skills Commission report, sponsored by Speedy Hire, which sets out evidence-based recommendations to address current and future skills challenges across the health and safety profession.

RoSPA Chief Executive Rebecca Hickman said: “While every RoSPA Awards ceremony is a memorable celebration of excellence, reaching 70 years is a true milestone moment. There has been incredible change over the last seven decades, which has seen the RoSPA Awards grow into the most rigorous and highly regarded health and safety awards scheme in the world, covering SMEs through to huge global corporations, all united in their dedication to keeping people safe and healthy at work.”

Stocksigns said: “We are pleased to be working closely with the Lighthouse Charity on such an important issue. This collaboration is all about bringing wellbeing to the forefront and making the issues that construction colleagues face more visible.

“The aim is to challenge the ‘just get on with it’ mindset, remove the stigma around asking for help with mental, physical and financial struggles, and reminding people that support is always available. Ultimately, this collaboration is about building a culture where wellbeing is openly

discussed and actively supported across the industry.”

Sarah Bolton, CEO of the Lighthouse Charity added: “We are delighted to be part of this proactive initiative with Stocksigns to ensure that our workforce know how and where to access the support they need. We are continually sharing the message that reaching out for help is a strength, not a weakness and having clear support channels on display helps normalise conversations around the importance of site wellbeing.”
