MIDDLE EASTERN PROMISE


For the first time ever Abu Dhabi will host a world-class carpet and flooring exhibition this October. Tomorrow’s Flooring reports on what’s in store at the three-day event.


The Middle East is set to spend trillions of USD on construction (of which the Flooring and Carpet industry is a key contributor) sector by 2020. This is being driven by strong year-on-year growth as a result of heavy government investments and a number of key market drivers including the AFC Asian Cup 2019, Dubai World Expo 2020, Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022, substantial population and growth, growing tourism and hospitality needs as well as commercial, residential, industrial and retail infrastructure developments.


This year from 1st – 3rd October, Arab Flooring Expo along with the incorporated Arab Carpet Expo, Yarn and Fiber Expo, the International Green Carpet and Flooring Conference as well as the two featured Seminars (Retailers & Marketing and Carpet & Flooring Care) will provide a set of world-class international flooring and carpet industry events at the award-

winning ADNEC venue in the symbolic city of Abu Dhabi.


Abu Dhabi is the chosen city for these events due to the presence of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which owns the world's largest hand-made carpet and has truly world-class mosaic stone flooring.


The event is focused on all types of indoor floor coverings including but not limited to marble, natural stone, ceramic, wood, vinyl, parquet and laminate as well outdoor flooring such as paving, walkways, decking etc. In addition, all technologies including; machinery, applications, sales, marketing, services and innovations in relation to the flooring industry are included.


Arab Carpet Expo will focus specifically on hand and machine-made carpets and rugs, standard industrial, commercial and residential carpet and any other carpet floor covering, as well as their


manufacture, carpet design, laying, cleaning and application technologies and peripheral sales, marketing and services.


Yarn and Fiber Expo focuses purely on the yarn, fibre and related raw materials, technologies and innovations in this part of the industry.


There are also two featured Seminars being held during the Exhibition. The first is the Retailers and Marketing Seminar, which is a unique round table on the opening day of the exhibition to introduce, educate, discuss, network and collaborate on this highly important topic in the carpet and flooring industry. This is being done for the very first time in the MENA region within a specialised carpet and flooring exhibition.
