A world brought to a standstill by the COVID-19 pandemic is beginning to take its first tentative steps towards adapting to a new set of variables and challenges. Businesses around the globe are restarting operations, while working on incorporating new guidelines, to accomplish previously routine tasks. For its part, the real estate industry will play a huge role in this reopening. Limited in the use of onsite staff due to social distancing norms, and implementing unprecedented measures, the industry faces significant challenges. Across markets, the sector is proactively turning to technology, as a catalyst to ensure smoother transition to a new way of life.


Is ‘evolution on the fly’ even achievable? The real estate industry has traditionally displayed long- term resilience in the face of previous disruptions, often rebounding to greater highs and even leading recovery. Increasingly, owners and operators are relying on technology

to engage with tenants, maintain business continuity, and automate processes that yield time and cost efficiencies. A recent Savills report suggests that this may also be the case in the post-pandemic phase - with the realty sector displaying greater intensity and vigour.
