Digital care planning and compliance management isn’t something only the biggest providers consider; it is equally important to the smaller, family-run care homes. At Orton Manor Nursing Home, in Water Orton on the outskirts of Birmingham, the owner and management team are ambitious about improving and delivering care that is personalised and lives up to the standards of their ethos. But all is not easy and straightforward- the funding crisis has leſt its traces and here is no different.


The owner of the care home, Dr Shahzada Ahmed, is a consultant ear, nose and throat specialist and is considered one of the UK’s leading rhinologists. Dr Ahmed grew up in and around his family’s care home, and has found the perfect balance of entrepreneurship and altruism required to keep developing their service.
