A SEAMLESS UPGRADE
When ageing laundry equipment began putting pressure on workflow, St Luke’s Hospice turned to a modern replacement. The result is a more efficient, ergonomic laundry operation designed around the needs of staff and patients.
Electrolux Professional has supported St Luke’s Hospice with an upgrade to its on-premises laundry (OPL), enabling significant operational efficiency gains.
The project, carried out by authorised partner JTM Service, has seen the hospice’s ageing rotary ironer replaced with a new Line 6000 Flatwork Ironer (IC63320) to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality laundry in a demanding environment.
The Sheffield-based hospice provides specialist palliative care to around 1,800 patients and their families every year. Its laundry and housekeeping services uphold infection control, patient dignity and the day-to-day running of clinical services.
Aſter its previous ironer had reached the end of its operational life, placing pressure on the team and threatening to disrupt workflow, JTM Service worked with Electrolux Professional to supply a modern, ergonomic replacement. Support for St Luke’s was offered end-to-end, from specification through to installation, with the project carefully managed to minimise disruption.
The installation builds on a relationship spanning over 15 years, with St Luke’s continuing to invest in Electrolux Professional equipment across its OPL. Other appliances in place include one W4240H and two W4130H washing machines alongside two T5350 dryers that continue to provide a smooth operation.

This has made a real difference to their daily workload, improving the flow of laundry through the department and helping us maintain the high standards that are so important to patient comfort and dignity.”
Features of the Line 6000 Flatwork Ironer, which holds a four-start ErgoCert rating, include foldable feeding trays that reduce the need for manual handling and bending, in addition to flexible front or rear delivery configurations that allow the equipment to adapt to different workspace layouts without compromising comfort.
