Loo of the Year winners are flush with
success The winners of the Loo of the Year Awards 2018 were announced at a glamorous ceremony at the St. Johns Hotel, Solihull, on 7 December 2018.
The Overall Trophy Winners were selected from the current years National Award Winners. The Overall Trophy is awarded to the provider of one or more entries who, in the opinion of the judges, deserves to receive the accolade of the top Loo of the Year Award.
This year’s UK Loo of the Year Award Trophy Winner was JD Wetherspoon, who picked up the prestigious Golden Loo Seat Trophy at the end of the Awards ceremony. JD Wetherspoon became the only entrant to have been awarded the Overall Loo of the Year Awards Trophy for the third time in Awards’ 31-year history.
Wetherspoon pubs gained Platinum Award grade for 90% of the company's entries, nine national awards and were also awarded Corporate Provider and Space to Change UK trophies. They were the UK’s first pub chain to introduce Changing Places toilets.
The Awards’ Managing Director, Mike Bone, said: “JD Wetherspoon provide many exceptional toilets which set the standard for the pub sector. They have entered Loo of the Year Awards for several years and won many awards. Chairman Tim Martin is passionate about providing excellent toilets and many Wetherspoon’s pubs are assessed each year as part of entry into Loo of the Year Awards.”
Virginia Santos, a cleaner for the City of London’s major visitor attractions, was awarded the Washroom Cleaner of the Year Award Individual Cleaner 'National Award' for England and the overall UK Trophy.
The Deep, a public aquarium situated at Sammy’s Point Hull, and a new single entrant, was the Individual Categories Trophy winner against strong competition from national companies and other major UK and Ireland Trophy Winners

Guests from throughout the UK, including representatives from leading cleaning and FM companies, attended the special Awards Presentation Event at the four-star St Johns Hotel Solihull. Leading comedian Hal Cruttenden provided comedy as the after-lunch entertainment
and guests enjoyed the unrivalled networking opportunities during the supplier exhibition that forms part of the annual event.
All trophy winners are also presented with a framed personalised certificate. The Overall trophy winners were:
