Hello and welcome to the September issue of Tomorrow’s Contract Floors.
It’s hard to believe that the summer is almost over and the end of the year is drawing closer. In some respects, it feels like the year never even got off to a proper start. But now with the push to get workers back into offices and schools due to reopen their doors, the emphasis is firmly on returning to a new normal and getting the economy going again.
The imminent threat of further coronavirus outbreaks and reimposed lockdown restrictions means businesses are rigorously trying to follow COVID-19 safe working compliance, putting two-metre distancing and hygiene to the top of the agenda.
With this in mind, Paul Rogers, Technical Services Manager at Amtico, outlines the benefits of specifying luxury vinyl tiles in commercial buildings, highlighting its low-maintenance properties and latest antimicrobial technology. We then take a look at a recent workplace installation where Forbo’s carpet tiles have been used in conjunction with LVT and marmoleum to create an agile and contemporary scheme, which then went on to win the Fly Forbo competition 2019/20. In our contract carpet section, we also hear from Heckmondwike FB on the acoustic advantages that carpet can bring to a busy office environment.
