Hello and welcome to the May issue of Tomorrow’s Contract Floors,

The start of the summer season can mean just one thing – it’s show time! Clerkenwell Design Week returns to London’s vibrant EC1 district from 20th to 22nd May. With hundreds of showrooms, exhibition venue, topical talks and engaging installations, Clerkenwell is a truly unique and interesting festival for interior design. Each year, the exhibitors really step it up a notch to present new ranges and create immersive experiences for their visitors. Don’t miss our preview from page 24 to find out the what some of the key exhibitors in the flooring sector have in store.

And a new feature for us in 2025 is a preview of Flanders Flooring Days (FDD), which takes place in Belgium from 2nd to 5th June. This show started out as an initiative from seven flooring manufacturers based in the region and has grown year on year. Now in its fourth edition, FFD will host over 100 international brands at the Hub in Kortrijk Xpo and at the companies’ showrooms across the Flemish district. On page 32, we shine a spotlight on the four-day event and hear from some of this year’s exhibitors.

As well as all of this, we take a look at flooring in the hospitality sector with spectacular case studies from Havwoods and The Solid Wood Flooring Company. In our industrial flooring feature, Watco discusses how painted floors can enhance safety and offers tips on getting the best result while F. Ball & Co. advises on proper subfloor preparation to withstand heavy loads.

There’s plenty to get stuck into this month, whether you’re travelling for a show or staying home.

I hope you enjoy the issue.

Sarah Robinson, Editor
