Tarkett discusses how their products provide endless possibilities to create unique flooring schemes in retail environments.

As a worldwide leader of innovative and sustainable flooring solutions, Tarkett’s impressive multi-material offer of products are designed to create healthier, safer, more inspiring retail spaces that contribute to personal wellbeing whilst respecting the environment.

Florian Bougault, Art Director, Tarkett Stores & Shops, Hospitality and Leisure comments: “iD Mixonomi is an ambitious collection – a real game changer for modular vinyl flooring - with a design aesthetic that manages to be bold, creative and playful. It’s the creative vinyl we’ve all been waiting for – authentic and celebratory – with endless opportunities to create unique flooring schemes.”

iD Mixonomi will be available in September this year. The collection has a number of functional benefits including: low VOC’s - contributing to better indoor air quality; manufactured using phthalate free technology; TOPCLEAN XP PUR reinforcement – a tough, hardwearing surface which reduces the need for water, energy and chemical detergents for the life of the product.

Commitment To Finding The Right Solution A good project starts by selecting the right product, taking into account design and technical requirements as well as ongoing maintenance and future renovation.

Striking Design Options For Every Space Tarkett’s high-quality flooring range is designed to suit any retail application - from shop windows, sales areas and display corners to pop-up stores, restaurant floors, fitting rooms and storage.

By providing personalised flooring options, Tarkett helps to create spaces that strengthen brand positioning and can also be used strategically to drive traffic across stores and direct customers to specific locations.

Inspiring Innovation This year Tarkett revealed its daring new LVT collection, iD Mixonomi. Part of Tarkett’s successful ‘Floor is the new Playground’ concept, the collection offers architects and designers unparalleled opportunities to push the boundaries with LVT. Not only can they have fun creating expressive designs across the floor, designers can also easily achieve personalised flooring – perfect for unique customer experiences in shops and stores.

Within the collection an outstanding palette of 33 colours has been developed by international colour expert agency, Peclers. An array of hues, inspired by travel, have been curated to stimulate the imagination: calm and cosy colourways associated with Scandinavian boutique hotels; sumptuous shades reflected in Tuscan pastry shop windows; bold accents borrowed from the meandering alleyways of an Indian tea market; elegant tones capturing the corners of a Savile Row tailor shop.

Equally compelling are the innovative patterns and shapes in the iD Mixonomi collection. Subtle patterns and shapes can be effortlessly combined – from simple mono shape layouts, to multiple shapes and colour formats – all working perfectly with Tarkett’s existing iD Inspiration standard plank and tile shapes.

With over 130 years of experience designing commercial flooring, Tarkett’s designers help to translate concepts into solutions, sharing their expertise to cover all aspects of the installation.

Proven Performance For the refurbishment of Marks and Spencer’s flagship store on Oxford Street in London - the M&S Pantheon - it was important that the interior design reflected the significance of the brand. To ensure that this look was achieved, M&S Pantheon turned to Tarkett to create a bespoke flooring design, especially for the Autograph brand.

Tarkett provided 150m2 of Abstract Vinyl Gris Timber for

Autograph, the modern, luxurious arm of the women’s clothing department, with a planned roll-out across other outlets.

The LVT offered an alternative to traditional ceramic tiles, with a modular design providing quick and easy installation and flexibility in the long term - a more practical solution to the store’s needs.
