High contrast matters
One symptom of dementia is an impaired ability to detect contrast between colours, particularly lighter colours. Thus, a typically pale, bright public washroom can quickly become an environment that feels confusing and overwhelming.
The dementia-friendly range overcomes this problem by featuring high-contrast colours that make it easy to differentiate the products from surrounding wall décor. Dispensers are supplied with an accompanying wall plate in a starkly different colour, for example a white dispenser on a dark blue plate. Blue is also proven to have a calming effect.
Supporting visual cues
As a further aid, the company also provides purpose- designed posters and signage for placement beside its dispensers. These aid identification and provide simple visual cues as to how to use them.
