When a boutique hotel in the Netherlands required a multi- system installation for diluting and dosing detergents in its kitchen, chemical systems specialist SEKO was challenged with delivering a bespoke solution.
The operator of the 25-bed Hotel De Koepoort – located in the Dutch town of Enkhuizen, 40 miles north of Amsterdam – contracted cleaning solutions provider Zep to install a warewash dosing system and a cleaning chemical dispenser for handling high-quality products. For these systems, Zep turned to SEKO, whose proven products and experience in the leisure and hospitality sector made it the ideal partner for the project.
To serve the hotel’s hood-type dishwasher and ensure that crockery and glassware was spotlessly cleaned, SEKO recommended its WareDose 35 system, a double-pump peristaltic unit that doses detergent and rinse aid with precision and consistency.
Features that achieve this include WareDose 35’s three- roller design, which distributes pressure on the compression tubing more evenly to help improve accuracy when dosing at low volumes. Plus, by reducing wear on the tubing compared to a two-roller design, the user can rely on repeatable volumes of detergent and rinse aid, along with other chemicals such as descaler.
There’s also the system’s powerful on-board microprocessor, which automates dosing with digitally driven precision to ensure the injected chemical volume is the same every time, while SEKO’s patented auto-calibration technology maintains chemical solution concentration via a conductivity sensor.
For optimum flexibility and efficiency, by connecting to the SekoWeb app and online platform the operator can adjust programmes and access wash data – such as chemical consumption per load – remotely and at their convenience.
To facilitate surface cleaning routines, the second phase of the installation saw Zep fit a four-product SEKO ProMax chemical dilution system. Designed with light industrial applications such as commercial kitchens in mind, ProMax connects directly to a water supply and provides precisely mixed chemical solutions with a single button push.
Including the latest in proportioning technology, ProMax’s patented hydrodynamic technology minimises flow restriction and provides backflow prevention for effective protection against contamination.
With a range of metering tips included with the unit, the operator can refine dilution and maximise chemical efficiency, ensuring consistent results while preventing wastage.
With multi-purpose cleaner, degreaser, glass cleaner and floor cleaner being dispensed into spray bottles from a single ProMax unit, the operator chose to take advantage of the system’s customisation option to facilitate chemical

identification. This colour coding allows staff to quickly and easily select the appropriate product, helping to ensure that surfaces are properly cleaned, protect guests and prevent chemical and water wastage.
Along with its space-saving design, ProMax’s quick and easy tool-free installation meant that disruption to normal operations was minimal while the unit was being fitted. The system’s modularity, meanwhile, allows for additional units to be effortlessly integrated alongside the existing system at any time – providing the customer with the scope for further expansion.
Finally, the system’s robustness and durability means that the unit performs without the need for regular maintenance – a ‘fit and forget’ solution, which is in keeping with SEKO’s design philosophy.
