CONTENTS
Welcome
Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers are moving production into the fast lane to keep up with the rapidly growing demand for electrified mobility. Armed with new regulations (see page 8), advances in motor technology (page 12) and innovative materials (page 18), manufacturers are ramping up their efforts to design and develop safer and more efficient EVs. From increasing vehicle range with high-efficiency wheel and transmission bearings (page 22) to advancing megawatt charging for HGVs (page 30), there are continual advances in the electrification of the automotive sector, aided by improvements in battery safety (page 14) and enhanced simulation software and capabilities (page 32). And it’s not just cars that are fully on the road to electric. The skies and seas are also embracing electrification, albeit at a slower pace. Page 17 looks at a new coating that minimises the nuisances and dangers aboard marine vessels, while page 20 details the latest advances in eVTOLs. Page 38, meanwhile, discusses how polycarbonate electrical enclosures are ensuring safety and performance in railway transportation systems. Many of these innovations will be showcased at the upcoming transport-related events: Southern Manufacturing & Electronics, Connected Mobility Expo and Transport Middle East. Find out more about the trends and technologies shaping the future of the transport sector, and that will be discussed during these events, in the show preview section on page 40.
