NEW DIGITAL TECH
Hexagon has introduced HxGN MineOperate UG, a platform for managing underground fleet equipment and broadcasting time-utilisation information the instant it’s needed in remote areas deep below the surface. UG Pro monitors task-level
activities, updating miner and machine workflows in real-time as the mine develops and produces ore. Developed specifically for mines lacking data networks underground, UG Pro optimises efficiency using tablets that store and forward critical information between supervisors and workers via network access points. Within the labyrinth of a commercial operation, digitalising all complex and simple mining tasks keeps data flowing. Visibility from mobile application dashboards ensures confidence in location and schedule adherence.
All-steel jack for heavy lifts launched
UK-based hydraulic tool specialist Allspeeds has launched the all-steel Tangye Hydraclaw hydraulic jack. With a five tonne lifting capacity on both the head and toe, the Hydraclaw is an important addition to the range of compact jacking options for mining engineers tackling heavy lifts with limited working space. Weighing 18kg (including oil), the
new jack provides controlled lifting and lowering using the operating lever. It offers a fast lift, 5.5mm lift
per stroke, to a maximum clearance of 178mm. The jack’s minimum clearance is 41mm. In addition to smooth operation, the Hydraclaw Jack has a positive stop feature to prevent over stroking, and pressure relief valve to prevent overloading. Safety
during lifting and lowering is critical so the jack has a substantial base providing stability under load. Its robust construction means it is built to withstand rough treatment on the most challenging lifting projects.
Upgraded haulers introduced
Terex Trucks has updated its TA300 articulated hauler with the introduction of a new transmission. The 28-tonne workhorse will now incorporate the latest EP320 transmission from ZF as standard. This results in a 5% improvement in fuel efficiency, as well as enhanced performance and productivity, when compared to the previous model working in the same application. The new transmission comes with eight forward gears as well as four reverse gears, higher overall gear ratio spread, equal ratio steps between gears and optimised gear shifting with partial

SAFER LONGWALL MINING
Nanotron Technologies and Marco are working together to deliver solutions designed to improve both safety and productivity in longwall face operations. Marco has integrated
load shifts. All of this helps to ensure smoother gear shifting and thereby higher levels of operator comfort. The TA300 is also equipped with true independent front suspension as standard, further enhancing operator comfort and enabling excellent traction control and maximum productivity in the most challenging of conditions.
Nanotron’s proximity detection and positioning functions into its Longwall Face Control solution. Nanotron’s swarm bee, a smart RF sensor module, is integrated into Marco’s longwall controllers, worker tags, remote control units and excavation units. The integrated solution means that the location of tagged underground equipment and mining personnel is known accurately at all times.
