Laboratory Products 21 How to Achieve Better Titration Reproducibility and Compliance with GxP
Many laboratories are still using manual titration to perform their routine analysis. However, glass burets are delicate to handle, volumes are difficult to read, and exposure to hazardous liquids pose a threat to the user’s health. A short video describes and explains these and other reasons why laboratories should switch from manual titration to using an automatic system with a digital burette and a potentiometric end point detection.
As titration is one of the oldest methods of chemical analysis, many standards still describe manual titration methods. As such, older standard methods are being modernised for many applications, users should think about switching to automatic titration.
The key reasons described in the video from Metrohm are:the burette is filled and emptied at the touch of a button; modern titration systems provide step by step guidance how to prepare the titration; digital titrators provide more reliable and reproducible endpoint evaluation; the complete analysis is documented according to GxP requirements; the user is protected from direct exposure to hazardous chemicals.

CO2
Incubator with Built-in Roller for Successful Cell Experiments The high quality CO2
hatching/germinating and special tissues.
The system combines fast heat up, fast-recovery and stable control within a compact design. Electrical heating wire is covered on all sides of chamber as warm air from the heating wire is preserved in the space between chamber and insulation. All of these design features makes for stable uniformity and provides fast heat-up time and temperature recovery. The insulated dry wall does not require regular maintenance. The bottom heater warms the water tray and provides the humidification, whilst a circulation fan delivers the moisture formed from the water in entire chamber. Heating by the front door and frame prevent condensation in the chamber and on the glass door.
The Celrol Elite roller apparatus is designed for use in the production of various attachment cells. The units are available in 5 bottle positions up to 88 bottle positions. It can be easily placed in the Wiggens CO2
incubator.
The Wiggens Roller apparatus allows users to grow cell attachments from standard plastic bottles at a convenient scale. The advantage of roller culture is that it can increase the surface area of the cell, and the gentle rotation is beneficial to cell growth. As the flask rotates, the cells leave the medium for a period of time and are suspended in the air, increasing the exchange of gas and facilitating cell growth.
For vaccine production or when high production is required, Celrol Elite can be used to add additional layers (up to 11) to place additional bottles as needed. It can be added to any type of bottle rolling machine. With a battery backup system and SMS alarm, it can connect the printer to directly output reports. A standard cell culture bottle of 108-121 mm in diameter and 550 mm in length can be placed in the Celrol Elite.

Now available from Alpha Laboratories, the new gelLITE gel documentation system is a compact and convenient system for documentation of agarose gels and stained protein gels. A 302nm UV transilluminator enables imaging of large format agarose gels or stained protein gels up to 20 x 20 cm, and can slide out from the main body of the system allowing gel extraction of DNA fragments.
The gelLITE gel documentation system provides complete control with its manually controlled camera zoom and focus. The 5 Megapixel camera also gives excellent low light sensitivity for clear resolution of closely spaced DNA bands and ensures even low levels of fluorescence are detected.
Included free of charge is the intuitive genePIX acquisition software which enables a fast and efficient workflow. Additionally, the geneQUANT analysis software features automated lane and band detection, and pre-loaded DNA ladder standards for simple quantification and automated report creation.
Optional converters are also available - blue light converters for safe DNA extraction and reduced DNA damage, and white light converters for enhanced contrast of visible protein stains.
Incubator developed and produced by Wiggens is ideal for the cultivation of animal cells, sperm/ovum, anaerobic cells, all sorts of microbe cells,
