Foundation sets the stage Y
OURPLACE is helping young people get their first experience of the theatre.
Wheatley Foundation, a charitable trust set up by our parent organisation Wheatley Group, has joined forces with the National Theatre of Scotland on their First Nights programme. It will see 200 young people living in Wheatley homes given a ticket to a National Theatre of Scotland show, a chance to meet the actors and creative team from the production and a behind the scenes tour of the National Theatre of Scotland’s
new facility. They will also be given a theatre
workshop and have the cost of their travel and refreshments paid for. Wheatley’s Lorraine McLaren said:
“First Nights will allow many children to experience the magic of live theatre for the very first time. “We hope it fosters a life-long love of the arts in the young people who take part.” If you know a youth organisation that would be interested, email:
wheatley.pledge@wheatley-group. com or call 0141 274 6693
