IDS are delighted to have a brand new play area thanks to local owners and tenants working

together. Local residents on the south side of Glasgow noticed that an unused green space in Auldhouse was muddy and only used by local dog walkers. Local children had been playing in the space so the residents association decided to try and get some equipment for them to play on. At the residents’ association meeting, supported by YourPlace, they set out to find funding to make the dream a reality. Within a matter of months, funding was secured from Glasgow City Council and our sister organisation GHA. Local mum, Lorraine Garner, was part of the residents’ group behind the project. She said: “It’s really made a difference - it has definitely brightened up the place and is somewhere everyone in the local community can use. It’s great to have somewhere safe for the kids to play.” Lorraine’s eight year old son Tristan
