CL AS SICAL LEGEND AT TRENTHAM LAK E S IDE MUS ICAL EXTRAVAGANZA
So what can fans expect when he appears at Trentham, where he will also be supported by Britain’s Got Talent winners singer Jai McDowall and musical theatre group Collabro?
“I’ll definitely be singing some Ball and Boe stuff, but just on my own, and I’d like to throw in a couple of my new songs. I’m hoping it’s going to be a really event, with a lovely summer country vibe and everyone on their feet and feeling happy. After the year we have all had, we deserve it.”
Also appearing at the event will McFly on the Friday night with special guests including TikTok star and singer Chloe Rose. On the Saturday The Vamps will headline, supported by X Factor winners Rak Su and Amy Jo (Hollyoaks).

Lancashire born Alfie is classically trained but as a youngster his heart was really in rock ‘n’ roll not opera.
“My father was a fan of the big tenors around at the time and my brother was an opera fan so that’s what I grew up with I suppose.
“I actually always wanted to be a rock star though.”
As a teenager Alfie played drums in a few bands but was advised that to get the most out of his voice he should take classical training which he did, studying at the Royal College of Music.
He has since sang with all the great companies – the Glyndebourne and English National Opera - as well as on Broadway but he became most well-known when he played the part of Jean Valjean in the musical Les Miserables on its 25th anniversary tour.
“I did do a lot of classical and opera over the years but I’ve transitioned over the years into areas of more popular music which is what I’m working on in my albums now.
“Even now when I get the opportunity, I am known to scream into the mic and try to incorporate a bit of rock into my live performances.”
McFly said: “We are delighted to be the first headliner of Trentham Live on the 3 September. We are told that musical greats such as The Rolling Stones and The Beatles played at the Trentham estate in the past, so we’re in very good company. We can’t wait to see our fans there and perform live for them again after such a strange year.”
A spokesperson for the Trentham estate added: “We’re excited and looking forward to bringing stars, international and home grown, such as McFly, The Vamps and classical legend Alfie Boe to Trentham this year. It will be an unmissable weekend of incredible live music and entertainment for all ages.”
