Subsea Innovation Delivers Bespoke Installation Tools to the Offshore Wind O&M Market
Subsea Innovation Limited, a Tekmar Group Company, has completed the design, build, testing & commissioning of two bespoke retrofit Dynamic Bend Stiffener (DBS) subsea installation tools on behalf of offshore installation contractor Leask Marine.
The DBS installation tools were designed in-house by Subsea Innovation's team of highly qualified and experienced engineers in accordance with DNV's standard for offshore platform and lifting appliances (DNVGL DNVGL-ST-0378).
The new tools are a MK.2 version of installation equipment developed by Subsea Innovation in 2020 and incorporate upgrades and modifications to improve the performance of the MK.01 model. This includes a full subsea camera and light package, a subsea control manifold, and a new operating system complete with marine grade hydraulic cylinder functions.

commissioned the equipment onsite at the project mobilisation port on the South East coast of England. Both installation tools are now mobilised offshore and supporting O&M activities on an operational wind farm in the UK.
