The government of a country is responsible for providing the basic needs of communities, such as:  good quality housing  healthcare  education and access to schools  water and sanitation (for example, waste removal services)  safety and social security (for example, police stations)  social and recreational amenities, (for example, parks, sports grounds, libraries, youth centres)


 transport and roads  electricity (for example, in the home and streetlights)  a sense of belonging.
