PROJECT
Option 1: Using transformations in design
1 You will need graph paper. Follow the steps below. 1.1 Draw a system of axes on a sheet of graph paper so that the origin is more or less in the middle of the sheet of paper.
1.2 Draw the lines y = x and y = −x. 1.3 Draw your own kite or quadrilateral so that the vertex of the smallest angle is on the origin and the longest diagonal lies on the line y = x.

1.4 Write down the co-ordinates of the vertices of the shape. 1.5 Rotate the shape clockwise through 90o. Write down the co-ordinates of the vertices of the new position of the shape.
1.6 Repeat the clockwise rotation two more times. Write down the co-ordinates of the vertices of each new position of the shape.
1.7 Rotate the shape anticlockwise through 90o. Write down the co-ordinates of the vertices of the new position of the shape.
1.8 Repeat the anticlockwise rotation two more times and write down the co-ordinates of the vertices of each new position of the shape.
1.9 Make a conclusion about the effect a rotation through 90o on the co-ordinates of a shape.
