SENIOR YEARS

Why I chose to move into a care home...

A couple of years ago I made the decision to move into a WCS Care home after having a short stay at one of their homes.

I never thought I’d choose to live in a care home as I was very happy living in my bungalow, but when I got home I realised how much I missed having people around me every day – both the carers and the other residents, many of whom had become friends.

I have my sewing machine and material stash in my room, and there was room for my mixer in the household kitchen. I get a lot of pleasure from making cakes for everyone.

I know I made the right decision when I moved here and wouldn’t change it.

Hilda, Resident at WCS Care

I moved in

with my sewing machine and Kenwood mixer and they’re both still getting plenty of use!
