How does it work? When you concentrate, frown or smile the muscles in your face contract. After years of frequent contraction and other lifestyle and environmental factors, lines and wrinkles will form and eventually become permanent. Anti-wrinkle treatments work by interrupting this process, leaving those muscles unable to crease the skin.
What areas can be treated? Mainly the face – forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet lines, lifting eyebrows, minimising smokers lines (upper lip), bunny lines (side of the nose), decreasing the ‘orange peel’ appearance of the chin and lifting corners of a down-turned mouth.
Will I be able to move my face? Yes! The ‘frozen’ look sometimes associated is caused when too much product is administered into one area. During your consultation we will discuss using the treatment for subtle effects.
What happens after my treatment? The treatment itself is relatively painless. Slight bruising may be seen afterwards, but this is unusual, mild and easily concealed. The injections usually start to produce an effect within 2-3 days, but it may take up to 2 weeks for maximum benefits to be seen. Results usually last up to 4 months. Before you leave the clinic at the end of your treatment, I will book you in for a free check-up 2 weeks later, so that I can review the results of your treatment once it has taken full effect. I can also book your next appointment in 3-4 months times to ensure you maintain your new look.
