Solihull Solihull Chamber Patrons
All change at the Chamber
Seven new executive committee members and a new vice-president will join Solihull Chamber’s executive council this month. Committee members Oliver Denton, Howard
Rose and Emma O’Brien will be stepping down as council members, while Kevin Johns, Susie Ankrett, John Callaghan and Namrita Sharma will be standing for re-election for their posts as council members, during the Chamber’s annual general meeting taking place virtually on 18 March. There have been 17 applications for the seven vacancies and members will be asked to vote on this via an online ballot – the deadline for this will be 10 March.
Tony Elvin: Stepping up
Robert Elliot, president of the Chamber, will also
be stepping down as president of the Chamber, concluding his two-year tenure in the role. As reported in the February 2020 edition of
Chamberlink, Tony Elvin, general manager of shopping centre Touchwood will be taking over the role from Robert. In lieu of Tony’s appointment, a third vice-president will join the Chamber during the annual meeting, to work alongside current vice-presidents Stuart Watson and Mick Westman. Members and non-members of the Chamber can attend the annual meeting for free.

Agency helps Polaris boost digital presence
A new programme has helped power sports and all-terrain vehicle distributor Polaris Great Britain bolster their digital and social media presence. Advertising and media agency Astute
Media’s programme has helped Polaris' dealers to maximise their social media channels, while increasing their audiences’ exposure to the Polaris brand and building local communities for the dealers. Astute Media, based in Solihull, designed
an online questionnaire to determine the abilities of each dealer and identify areas where improvements could be made before putting the tailored programme together. Based on the questionnaire results,
Astute Media set up an interactive half-day online course, with a maximum of six delegates per course, to deliver the digital programme for Polaris. Seventy-five per cent of Polaris dealers
attended the training, led by Michael Smith, social media guru at Astute Media.
