2021 Virtual Business and Leadership Development Conference
By Barbara Tiseo, Meeting & Event Planner I
t seems like yesterday that we had to inform you, our valued Members, that we would have to cancel our 2020 Business and Leadership Development Conference due to the Pandemic. We replaced our 2020 Business and Leadership Development Conference with a series of webinars, which were available to Members only. The webinars were well received and possible through the generosity of our community of speakers, most of whom did not charge a fee, and Zoom. With the uncertainty still prevalent
in our world today and the current restrictions in New Orleans, we had to once again make a tough decision regarding our upcoming meeting. The good news is, unlike last year, we were able to secure a platform that will support our meeting in its entirety. We will run our regular three – half day – programs with an agenda that will offer our Members pertinent information on the state of our economy and our

industry as a result of Covid-19 and other issues and concerns in the world today. From our Keynote Speaker, Paul
Krismer, who will discuss the “Serious Business of Positive Emotions”, to Gene Marks who will discuss, “Post COVID
Opportunities & the Biden
Administration,” our meeting will bring our valued Members pertinent information that will help to navigate the remainder of 2021 and look forward to the future. Our agenda will also include, our recurring speakers, Rick Alaniz and Ken Mayland with reports on our legal responsibilities in 2021 and beyond as well as current economics.
Joseph
Fritz will also present “The Investment Casting North America Outlook”. The Investment Casting Institute
would like to thank all of our Members who supported our endeavors in 2020. I would like you to know that our 2021 platform is as near to “real life” as we can get without physically being there.
It allows us to create personal avatars that have the ability to talk to each other using the audio on our computers. The meeting will take place in an auditorium that will be so true to life, you will believe you are actually sitting in the audience. It features a stage with screens, the ability to raise your hand and ask a question, using nothing more than your voice, of course the technology of your computer as well! This is the closest to “real time” that we could find, and we previewed an array of different platforms. We are very excited to be able to present this opportunity to network, learn, and develop to our Members for 2021. Please go to our website, www.
investmentcasting.org for the agenda, as well as registration. We hope to “see” you there. Please contact the Institute at 201- 573-9770 or email me directly at
btiseo@investmentcasting.org with any questions.
