issouri's Cattle- men Foundation awarded scholar-
ships to 25 high school seniors and college stu- dents at the 53rd Annual Missouri Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show. The awards were presented during a ban- quet celebrating the achievements of youth in the cattle industry on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Scholarship recipients
were chosen based on excellent communica- tion,
leadership and
scholastic achievement as well as involvement in their communities and the agricultural indus- try. Each selected stu- dent received a $1,000 scholarship funded by Missouri's Cattlemen Foundation and its many supporters. Sev- eral were endowed schol- arships
that were established to honor in-
dividuals who have made significant contri- butions to Missouri's beef cattle industry. Scholarships
were
awarded to Brooke An- derson, Pettis County; Hannah Anderson, Pettis County; Schyler Angell, Boone County; Caedon Bergman,

County; Hallie Bond, Vernon County; Emma Burns, Carroll County; Lauren Crutsinger, Cape Girardeau County; Mor- gan Crutsinger, Cape Gi- rardeau County; Michael Dieckmann,
Jackson
County; Meagan Forck, Cole County; Lauren Gilbert,
Christian
County; Rachel Grimes, Bates County; Jake Haines, Audrain County; David Lemmon, Clark County;
Kraysen
Leonard, Cedar County; Charlotte Lloyd, Henry County; Abigail Miller, Miller County; Payden Nolting, Barton County; Alexis Plackemeier, Lin-
coln County; Isaac

For the third year,
judges selected the top five written applications and those individuals had in-person interviews with a panel of judges to compete for an addi- tional $2,000 making the scholarship a total of $3,000. The top five can- didates were: Schyler Angell, Lauren Gilbert, Lauren
Crutsinger,
Brooke Anderson and Isaac Rhode. The top two who received an addi- tional $2,000 provided by Governor Mike and First Lady Teresa Parson and the Boone County Cattlemen's Association were Schyler Angell and Lauren Gilbert.
