Mark Logan wants to spark children’s interest in computer science


Why tech education must be rebooted

In addition to his Scottish technology ecosystem review, former Skyscanner chief operat- ing officer Mark Logan has been trying to reform the way tech is taught in schools. Te investor and professor of


computing has written an adden- dum to the report he submitted in the summer focusing on how to improve the uptake of computing science. Finance secretary Kate Forbes,


who has accepted all 34 of his recommendations, spoke of her desire to see a “full system” approach to the way the report is implemented in Scotland. Although both Forbes and Logan acknowledge that some parts of the review will be more challeng- ing to address than others, there have been encouraging signs in government. Logan has met with education secretary John Swinney to press
