Follow us on: Hello reader

Welcome back to our first physical magazine for a while! We hope you are all keeping safe and well in these turbulent times.

It is the time of year where we offer a warm welcome to our new readers – the families of new primary school starters! On the other end of the scale, we know that lots of you are looking ahead to the secondary school stage, so we have pulled together some information on admissions and open days in this edition.

Family health has never been higher on the agenda so make sure you read our articles on how to take care of yourselves physically and mentally.

Unsurprisingly, due to the unusual circumstances that we all find ourselves in, a lot of things are subject to change so make sure that you keep in touch with us on social media and our website for updates from our fantastic local schools, businesses and attractions.

Keep your eyes peeled for our October half term edition next month

Take care and stay safe! Contents

Primary Times Norfolk is independently published and distributed free through primary schools in the county of Norfolk. It is also available by subscription at £10 per year. It aims to inform families and children about current educational issues, forthcoming events, courses and attractions and to give teachers, pupils and parents the opportunity to participate in the magazine by adding to its contents or joining in the competitions. It is NOT our intention to publish any racist, sexist or politically based material whatsoever. We also undertake not to carry any advertising which we would consider to be offensive to young families or harmful to the best interests of young children. Primary Times would like to thank all the schools in the Norfolk Area for their assistance in distributing the magazine and for their contributions to its contents. We would also like to thank all the advertisers who have supported this publication and therefore made it possible. Please support their endeavours when and where you can. SUPPORTING FAMILIES ACROSS THE COUNTY

Home-Start Norfolk is a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support available to help families with under 5’s through their challenging times.

We are pleased to partner with the National Lottery Community Fund and Norfolk’s Early Childhood and Family Service to provide tailored one-to-one support for families struggling with a range of issues including health problems, children’s additional needs or challenging behaviour, family breakdown, isolation, or those adversely affected by the recent pandemic.

Support is delivered by trained and experienced volunteers, via face-to-face, telephone or online support and mentoring sessions or via our experienced Family Support team.

We are recruiting volunteers for our next telephone befriender training courses. A great opportunity to broaden your skills and experience, and support others in your community.

Check our website www.homestartnorfolk.org for more information and course dates.

Please call us on 01603 977040 for an informal chat to find out more about the support we could offer your family, or to find out more about volunteering with Home-Start Norfolk. Registered Charity No: 1106362. The Community Centre, Swaffham, Norfolk, PE37 7RB
