EUROPE & MIDDLE EAST EDITOR’S COMMENT M
uch-needed good news on the environmental front comes from Longitude, an LOC Group Company, which has announced the completion of
a concept design for a vessel and recovery system to remove floating plastic flotsam, which has become a growing problem for rivers in South-East Asia. The contract was provided by Seven Clean Seas (SCS), a company set up in 2018 to support the fight against plastic pollution of the ocean, so the vessel and river recovery system are aimed at removing plastics from rivers before they reach the sea.

Front cover: In what is undoubtedly a challenging year for the leisure boating market, it is good to carry a report about a marina opened only a few months ago. As dusk falls over Ayia Napa Marina, Cyprus, lights come on in the facility’s West Tower (see pages 20-21).
