Combined expertise at Saudi marina A
marina badly in need of updating and refurbishment in Fanateer Port, Saudi Arabia, has been reshaped
and transformed by combining the expertise of pontoon builder Livart Marine Industry of Shenzhen, China, and pedestal manufacturer M-Tech
Marine Technologies to complete a project consisting of five main pontoons with 46 finger piers. The marina now has a capacity for more than 100 berths of various sizes. Brisbane-based M-Tech designed
all the infrastructure layouts, including mains and sub-main
electrical cabling, potable water and fire hydrant suppression systems. The company employs the latest utility design software that is fully compliant with AS/NZS and British Standards (BS) that enables it to take the guesswork out of such projects and provide customised

reports for both consultants and engineers. M-Tech also designed and manufactured four shore isolation panels with ratings of 600 amps and above. Each group of panels complies with the IEC standard 61439 Low Voltage Switchgear & Assemblies. Sterling marina service pedestals, which are extruded from anodised 25 microns aluminium, were installed to service the berths with IP67 socket outlets and quarter-turn water taps. M-Tech’s emergency stations at the upgraded marina contain fire hose racks, 30 metres of lay-flat hoses and jet spray nozzles, together with 9 kg dry powder extinguishers, SOLAS- approved lifebuoys and first-aid kits.
