SCANNER PUTS THE HEAT ON SYMPTOMS technology SUMMER 2020

The innovation coming your way this year

A scanner which accurately reads the skin temperature of up to six people at once, has been launched on the back of £3 million investment in R&D. Its primary function will be to help healthcare organisations and businesses quickly and efficiently detect individuals with a fever – one of the primary symptoms of Covid-19. The Thermavis Multi-Person

Thermal Scanner is described as a non-intrusive, no larger than an iPhone and using

artificial intelligence to take a reading, in real time, of multiple people’s body temperature with accuracy of 0.5 degrees Centigrade. It is backed by the managed

IT services provider Transputec. Thermavis CEO Mark Nightingale, said: “For many businesses returning to work following the lifting of lockdown measures, the issue of keeping staff safe from infection is a top priority.” n

KEY WORKERS CONNECTED IN A BLINK

Blink, a new smart employee app designed to support frontline and key workers during the Covid-19 outbreak has been deployed in over 100 organisations in 14 countries since its rollout last year. Two months into the lockdown, it had been

accessed 25 million times by frontline workers, such as the NHS and the Prison Service. It provides them with single-app to access all

important information and systems and the ability to connect with colleagues. Blink has already raised £8.2million in capital, led by Paris and San Francisco based venture capital firm Partech, alongside a roster of high-profile angel Investors Sean Nolan, CEO, said, “The Covid-19 crisis has underlined the critical role that frontline and key workers play in our society. Now more than ever they need empowering with better tools so they can effectively perform their essential roles.” n
