Tony retires after 40 years service


After a public library career of 40 years, spread across Derbyshire, Gateshead and Newcastle upon Tyne Library Services, Tony Durcan retired at the end of January. A former President of the Society of Chief Librarians, and until Janu- ary a founding Board Member of Libraries Connected, Tony is also vice Chair of The Reading Agency. The library lead for Newcastle is now Luke Burton.
