ith the restart under way in earnest, SELECT


remains at the forefront of the CICV Forum,


collaborating with other organisations, speaking to government and shaping essential guidance to help the industry return to work safely.


The association has been playing an important role in the latest work issued by the Forum, helping to develop a raft of practical guidance to help businesses and apprentices across the country. The Forum also hosted a number of webinars, including a useful session that off ered advice on unfurloughing and returning to work hosted by Fiona Harper, SELECT’s Director of Employment and Skills. In addition, SELECT staff played a key role as the Forum issued a consultation about the future of the industry and participated in meetings with Kevin Stewart MSP, the Minister for Local Government, Housing and Planning, as part of the Restarting Construction Sub-Group.

Over the past two months, SELECT has continued to play a key role in the Construction Industry Coronavirus (CICV) Forum as it listens to the industry and speak on its behalf


SELECT Managing Director Alan Wilson continues to chair the Forum, with Fiona Harper involved with the Skills and Employment sub-groups and Director of Membership and Communications Iain Mason leading the Communications sub-group. Specifi er and Client Relations Manager


Yvonne Wilson also continues to coordinate the body. Alan said: “With the phased return now advancing, it’s been vital for the whole industry to be updated with clear and relevant information, and SELECT continues to play a leading role in helping to produce such guidance for the Forum. “Working in collaboration with our


fellow trade organisations and other bodies has been key to all the ongoing work carried out, just as cooperation will be vital for the whole construction sector moving forward.” The Forum has continued to grow over the past two months, welcoming more bodies and its 100th individual member, as well as creating an eighth sub-group made up of leading consultants. Alan added: “It is heartening to see so many organisations keen to join the Forum’s ranks as this unique collective goes from strength to strength. For our own part, SELECT will continue to provide expertise and support, helping with recovery during the challenging times we all now face.”
