Lady Mary takes over

2020 sees Lady Mary take over ferry trips from the well-known Rivermaid, which is now based in Plym- outh.

The Rivermaid Ferry Co has changed its name to Kingsbridge Salcombe Ferry Com- pany and operates this MCA approved trad- itional, wooden ferry. She

arrived in Sal-

Built of wood in the 1960s by the Black- more boatyard

North Devon, she now provides the 50 seat passenger ferry ser- vice connecting Kings- bridge to Salcombe as well as cruises around the harbour and up the creeks.

Her livery of red and

Quay in Kingsbridge and the Ferry Land- ing in Salcombe, con- veniently next to the Portlemouth ferry, which is a quick ride across to the harbour to the lovely sandy beaches and glorious coastal walking. The evening “creeks cruises” in this wild- life rich haven are part

of many people’s buck- et list of activities dur- ing the year and well worth looking out for. The

ferry website
