EDMAX Shavings is thrilled to announce the winners of its inaugural Retailer of the Year Awards 2020. Scooping the award for the larger retailer category is Robson & Cowan in Morpeth, Northumberland, and Wheatley Farm Shop in Oxfordshire has picked up the prize for the smaller retailer category.

The awards were set up in celebration of BEDMAX Shavings 20th anniversary to acknowledge loyal customers over the years and recognise all the retailers across the UK, whose support has helped to make the iconic yellow and green bags the best-selling equine bedding in Britain. This is a proud year for BEDMAX, reaching this milestone of two decades since the first horse bedding shavings came off the production line.
Robson & Cowan is a family run country store famous in the North East for its fantastic service. On hearing that the retailer had won, Frank Cowan said:
“We receive tremendous support from BEDMAX and stock all of their products including LITTLEMAX, STOCKMAX and HOTMAX. So to win this award from them is fantastic and amazing news which I am thrilled to hear about. I would like to thank those who nominated us, and our sales team in the office which is second to none, and this award is testament to that.
”
Wheatley Farm Shop has been a customer of BEDMAX for many years, and is a family run farm shop and garden centre near Oxford selling a range of equine products. When notified of the award, Carol of Wheatley Farm Shop said:
“In the current times it is nice to be appreciated and recognised by one of our suppliers. It gave us a boost winning the regional selection, so to be announced as the overall winner in the Small Retailer category is amazing. We have been loyal customers of BEDMAX products over the years as we support the health benefits and education that comes with the product, and accordingly recommend them to our equestrian customers whenever we can.
“We have some lovely customers who have gone out of their way to put us forward and winning this is very welcome news, it helps to keep a smile on your face.
”
Regional winners will receive a certificate and plaque and overall winners in each category will receive a 2020 Retailer of the Year Trophy and a £250 prize to be spent on a staff party.
The awards were run by an online nomination process, followed by a judging process. All the regional winners were stockists which offered the very highest levels of customer support and equine knowledge. The overall winners were the retailers that demonstrated these qualities,
