INCAST is Now Accessible in the
Public Domain
n light of recent world events, the Investment Casting Institute has decided to make INCAST magazine available to a greater audience and is now offering the digital version of the magazine in the public domain, free of charge. Other trade associations that have done this noted a significant increase in readership as non-members and customers now have access to their publications. The fact is a growing majority of our members prefer digital publications due to their ease of accessibility and the fact that they add no weight nor take any space when travelling. The most valuable reason for keeping the magazine in print is that hard copy often finds its way into company lobbies and company or personal libraries. Rest assured that we have no plans to discontinue hard-copy publication but until financial hardships lessen, we are limiting the number of print copies to two per Member location. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to get back to our full print circulation as soon as possible.

OSHA’s Coronavirus Reporting Rules
OSHA has recently revised its recordkeeping requirements
to make Coronavirus a recordable illness in their illness and injury logs. Employers are responsible for recording cases of the coronavirus if: • It is medically confirmed as a coronavirus illness. • It is work-related (i.e. work environment either caused as contributed to the resulting condition). • It involves one or more of the general recording criteria (i.e. results in death, days away from work, medical treatment beyond first aid, or illness diagnosed by a physician). OSHA acknowledges that “it remains difficult to determine
whether a coronavirus illness is work-related.” Therefore, making a reasonable effort to determine work-relatedness should be proof of compliance. Additionally, OSHA emphasized that merely recording
instances of coronavirus does not confirm a violation of OSHA standards. Several states have mandated that Coronavirus be deemed
work-related through the end of the pandemic. More states are considering similar action. Check whether your state has done so.
