Hello Bideford


Welcome to a very different Bideford link in a very different world we now live in. You may have noticed that the magazine is a little thinner than normal, this is due to the amount of businesses that are unable to trade at the moment. I have personally contacted all the businesses who are advertising this month and they are all open and working, taking all the safety measures needed to keep you and them safe. It looks like this Covid - 19 virus will be with us for some time, this means we will all have to find ways to live with it, according to Government guidelines and try to live as normal a life as possible. As the months go by, more businesses will open and we will let you know as soon as they do. Good job I’m bald and won’t need to joint the queue at the hairdressers when they open!! I can and have seen some good come from this. The coming together of people who wouldn’t normally speak and the sense of community is quite amazing. The new found respect and show of support for our NHS staff and key workers has been an inspiration. During the very first Thursday applause at 8pm a few weeks ago for the NHS staff, I stood on the top of a hill overlooking our town. I could hear the clapping, cheering and whistling right across the town, it was amazing to listen to and sent a shiver down my spine. Well done Bideford, keep your chin up, stay strong, stay safe and keep alert, together we can do this.
