“business of the month” in November 2015 by the local chamber of com- merce. Local media coverage of that award generated a lot of goodwill in the community. “As part of our mission statement,


we encourage our staff to be involved in the community in which they live and work,” Sabo says. “That lends itself to a certain amount of visibility because when our staff are volunteer- ing on a race or street-side cleanup, and they get to talk to other people in the community about the ASC, it is very positive exposure for the center.”

As patients become more involved in deciding where to receive care, put your ASC high on their list by making every patient experience positive, Mur- phy says. “That has to do with basic
