Technology news Accessible Covid-19 content for digital signage
Netipbox Technologies has formed a team to adapt Covid-19
information into a
digital format for digital sig- nage applications. With data from official sources from the different countries where their clients operate (WHO, the American CDC, the Health Ser- vices of France and Portugal,
the Ministry of Health of the Government of Spain, etc.), and making it freely accessible to those who manage digital signage networks in any sector. The goal is to help disseminate relevant data and important in- structions, as well as provide clearly and visually appealing guides and advice to fight the
pandemic, to all supermarkets, food stores, hospitals, pharma- cies, transportation services, hotels, residences, funeral homes, health centres and cor- porate channels that remain open and need to communicate safety and prevention measures through their screens.
“At Netipbox we want to
transfer our support to all those companies and institutions that need to transmit information to customers and users and find difficulties to do so, whether they are our customers or not. Therefore, we have also adapt- ed the download of content on-premises so that they can be used under other platforms,
and we have developed in re- cord time the RRSS applica- tion to be able to publish the content directly on social net- works”, explains Toni Viñals, CEO of Netipbox.

Harmonic provides free
access to video streaming The current global health crisis has given rise to rapid growth in network traffic, re- sulting in strain across global broadband networks. In order to address the recent surge and to support its many cus- tomers during these unprece- dented times, Harmonic today announced it will provide its EyeQ content-aware encoding (CAE) technology free for the next 90 days to help allevi- ate the current network con- straints.
Harmonic's EyeQ technology leverages artificial intelligence to reduce streaming conges- tion on broadband networks by up to 50% without impacting quality. It serves as a highly

Adding our EyeQ tech- nology to the mix can greatly decrease bandwidth consump- tion for high-quality video and alleviate strain on local and national broadband networks,” said Shahar Bar, senior vice president, video products and corporate development at Har- monic. “By offering free licens- es for the expected lockdown timeframes, Harmonic is pro- viding an effective tool to help both media companies and broadband networks alike.” Harmonic will highlight its

almost entirely on visual stan- dards of cleanliness, this pro- gramme will help to identify and control those areas where additional hygiene standards are required. This will min- imise the risk of workplace contamination for those key sites which are still occupied and will support those man- aging empty buildings as they gradually become reoccupied. The essence of the pro- gramme is to identify all areas of a building where the risk of contamination to building us- ers is high, highlight them and then clean them at a frequen- cy that is appropriate to the area they are in. This includes common areas, door handles, lifts and stairway railings. The highly visual system pos- itively drives the behaviours of building users, cleaning op- eratives and facilities manag- ers, and is based on the use of 'High Intensity Touch Point' indicators. These will remind building users to wash their hands after passing through a high-risk area, and prompt cleaning staff to pay addition- al attention to deep cleans of these areas.
The programme is suitable for all types of sites, can be used in conjunction with an existing cleaning specification
and can be adapted over time as building usage changes. Im- plementing the system is a sim- ple 3 stage process:
Step 1: Categorise every area type within your building Step 2: Determine the 'Touch Point' cleaning frequency for every area type
Step 3: Apply the 'Touch Point' indicators at appropriate locations
Mike Boxall, managing direc- tor at Sitemark, commented: “While there is understand- ably a lot of focus on keeping buildings safe now, we need to think about how to keep them safe when offices, shops and schools reopen. A lot of peo- ple might want assurances that their workplace is fit for pur- pose. Through the use of the workplace hygiene programme, building managers can point to the programme as evidence of the steps they are taking, and the indicators will act as daily visual reminders to everyone of how to stay safe and hygienic.”
