New Online Navigation Light Configurator From Glamox Speeds up and Simplifies

Selection Process Finding the best navigation lights for a vessel can be time consuming and require lots of research, particularly if you don’t have any background knowledge or experience in this area. The process involves not only choosing navigation lights that comply with the latest safety requirements, but which also meet the functional needs of the vessel.

LED lighting specialist Glamox has released a new free online configurator tool for its range of navigation lights and control panels, which speeds up and simplifies this process. By answering specific questions, users

are guided by the online tool to the best choices of navigation lights and control panels for their vessel.

The online configurator is based on the manual Glamox ordering forms so many customers will be familiar with this. The selection process includes criteria such as size and type of marine vessel; LED or conventional light source; type of control panel; and voltage requirements. The user can even include special requirements such as Suez Canal lights, underwater operation lights, Purse Seiner or Panama lights. At the end of the process, the user can extract a pdf report with recommended navigation light products for their project.

ADMIRALTY Vector Chart Service Online The UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) has announced two ADMIRALTY Distributors are now approved providers of ADMIRALTY Vector Chart Service (AVCS) Online, the shore-based version of the world’s leading maritime chart service. AVCS Online gives shore-based users and fleet planning team access to more than 15,000 Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs), updated weekly, to support vessel tracking, voyage planning and for use in accident and emergency incidents. Access to the same charts used at sea gives shore-based users the ability to be involved in a wide range of navigational activities, collaborating with their mariner colleagues to support safe navigation all over the world.

The service has been developed by the UKHO in response to the need for shore-based teams to access AVCS from their office. AVCS Online can be integrated seamlessly into web-based systems such as Bogerd Martin’s Chart Track Ship Manager and
