December and January were once again busy months for SELECT staff, who travelled far and wide on Members’ behalf. Here are some highlights – and some social news too
STIRLING
Technical Standards Adviser Bob Cairney attended a meeting of the Energy Skills Partnership (ESP) in Stirling on 20 January, representing SELECT at the Energy Efficient Scotland Quality and Skills Working Group. An update was provided by a Scottish Government representative on the quality assurance work associated with Energy Efficiency Scotland’s work and there was discussion on the implications of the publication of PAS 2035:2019.

Staff at the Holiday Inn, East Kilbride, sprung a special festive surprise on Training and Development Adviser Malcolm Duncan during the delivery of a one-day ECS health and safety course on 5 December. Instead of the usual buffet, they kindly laid on a full Christmas lunch for Malcolm and his 20 delegates, including crackers, streamers and specially prepared signs.
