Expert pair take up senior SEC Group Scotland roles


Te Specialist Engineering Contractors’ (SEC) Group Scotland has welcomed two experienced construction professionals to senior roles. Gordon Matheson, former


President of the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF), has been appointed the new chair of the Scottish group, with Ken Lewandowski, former Local Chairman of Clydesdale Bank, being appointed executive chair. Gordon replaces Eddie Myles


of the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA),

Teir experience, integrity and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to press for positive change in the construction industry.” SELECT works closely with


SEC Group Scotland on a range of industry issues, including the current consultation on retentions.

user testing prior to launch, and we’re confident that Members will enjoy how easy it is to navigate and use. “All existing users will


now enjoy the first month of the new app free to allow them to get used to using the new system.


“There will be a similar discounted offer for new users switching from other systems or using SELECTcerts for the first time.” Developed in partnership with the experts at Computer Scene Technical Ltd, SELECTcerts is designed to be accessed by all internet- enabled devices and is available from Google Play, Windows App Store and the Apple App Store. Look out for finalised 18th Edition amendment


As CABLEtalk went to press, the agreed wording for Amendment 1 to BS 7671:2018 was still being finalised. Due for publication on 3 February, the


new changes concern Section 722 of the 18th Edition, Electric Vehicle Charging Installations, following advances in technology for this key area of electrical work. A full report on the amendment will feature in the next issue
